La línea de bajo de la canción fue realizada con un sintetizador por el mismo Brian. La canción era una mezcla de Rock y Funk siendo a veces considerada una consecuencia de la canción "Dragon attack" realizada en el álbum The Game en el que se fuciona influencias de musica pesada con el Dance como alguna vez lo hizo Led Zeppelin.

La llamada telefonica que se escucha al final de la canción está en Alemán, ya que la canción fue escrita en Munich, lo que quiere decir la llamada es: "Buenos Dias, está esta llamada es para despertarte". La letra de "Dancer" es la única que hace referencia al album al cual pertenece.
